Minister Mangoma re-arrested

Energy and Power Development minister Elton Mangoma has been re-arrested amid reports he could face charges relating to the alleged irregular awarding of a multi-million- dollar tender to purchase electricity meters by the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC), a subsidiary of Zesa.
Details surrounding the arrest were this morning still sketchy. Nelson Chamisa, the MDC-T spokesperson, said: “We are told he has been re-arrested as he was going to work.”

Chamisa said they did not know why Mangoma has been arrested.

Mangoma, is on bail after his arrest early this month on allegations of corruptly sealing a fuel deal with a South African company without going to tender,.

He was released by the High Court on US$5 000 bail.
