Golf clubs hold medal competitions
All Harare clubs will hold monthly medal competitions Friday.
The competitions are open to club members only.
This, week we focus on Falcon Golf Club. Falcon is situated along Airport Road in Hatfield and boasts of a challenging 18-hole course.
The Falcon management committee confirmed that the monthly medal competition will be sponsored by Super Quick Panel Beaters with tee-off times from 08.30 on a pitch and play.
The fairways are a bit dry but the greens are playing very well.
Hot favourites for best gross are Lameck Masendeke who is also captain of A-league, Munetsi Munetsi playing off a 5 handicap, Innocent Chisepo and Alex Sithole.
Tomorrow, Norton Country Golf Club hosts a fundraising tournament for the Roman Catholic Church. Tee-off time is 09.30 to 1000hrs.
Auction of golfers will be done at half-way.
It is a tradition for the golfers to play for charity and this tournament is meant to raise funds to buy building materials for the Roman Catholic Church.
Raymond Munyaka, the vice- captain of the club, has put up concessionary green and competition fees to accommodate as many golfers as possible.
Next week we will bring you results from clubs across the country.
