Music treat for lovers

Lovers are in for a treat on Valentine’s Day at Rainbow 7 Arts Theatre where music couple Selmor Mtukudzi and Tendai Manatsa in conjunction with Alexio Kawara and Afro-jazz maestro Victor Kunonga are scheduled to perform in a show dubbed, “I Love You . . . You Alone.”

Yesteryear music legend Zex Manatsa and his wife Stella, will be the guests of honour at the show that is aimed at celebrating love and monogamous relationships.

“We are looking at encouraging people to have one partner only, especially in this era of HIV and Aids. Whoever you love, let them be the only one,” said Sandra Mtukudzi, the show’s coordinator.

In an interview, Selmor and Tendai said they were looking forward to mesmerising lovers with their music.

“We are going to feature old and new songs that we have done and we are also going to do songs from both our fathers (Oliver Mtukudzi and Zex Manatsa),” said the couple.

“We have fused our music with mbira to give a beat that our music fans have never heard before. At the same time, we are also going to be celebrating our love for each other in front of everyone who is going to make it to the show.”
