A woman collapsed and died on Friday morning at Harare civil courts where she had gone to attend the court hearing of her late brother’s estate.
Ndaizivei Marimo of Nyaure village, Chief Shumba in Domboshawa, is said to have travelled 10km on foot from her village to catch a bus to Harare.
When NewsDay visited the scene at the civil courts, the deceased’s body was still lying on the ground while Gerald Marimo, her brother, was said to have gone to the police to make arrangements for its removal.
Claudius Marimo, another relative, told NewsDay his late sister had not been feeling well for some time but had walked a long distance without taking any food.
“She was not well but she walked 10km from the village to Domboshawa to board a bus to Harare together with her sisters Joyce and Tecla without eating anything,” the brother said.
Upon arriving at Fourth Street, she is said to have walked to Parirenyatwa Hospital for treatment and back to the civil courts where she collapsed and died before her late brother’s estate case could be heard.
