Two people died while another has been hospitalised after allegedly taking an overdose of cocaine at a house in Glen Lorne, Harare, last Saturday.
Harare provincial police spokesman Inspector James Sabau confirmed the deaths of Andrew Ross Malcolm and Scott Norman, both aged 35.
Malcolm’s wife is hospitalised at a private hospital after she also took the drug.
“A packet with some white substance was found in Malcolm’s jacket before the three were rushed to Michael Gelfand Clinic in the Avenues,” Sabau said.
A doctor who attended them confirmed consumption of the narcotic substance.
Malcom’s wife is still in hospital. The incident comes hot on the heels of the arrest of two Tanzanians and a South African for drug trafficking.
