Caps United are all but out of the Confederation Cup after 5-0 humiliation in the first leg of their third round at the Hilal Stadium in Khartoum Sudan on Sunday night.
Former Dynamos striker Edward Sadomba plotted Caps United’s downfall when he scored a memorable hat-trick to help Sudanese champions Al Hilal destroy a hapless Caps.
Sadomba also created another goal for the hosts as Al Hilal went on a rampage and virtually put one foot into the Confederation Cup group stage.
The Warriors striker has been one of Al Hilal’s priced possessions since they paid a lot of money to Bidvest Wits of South Africa.
Sadomba hit a hat-trick before efforts from Khalifa Ahmed and Mudathir Eltaib sent CAPS United sent CAPS United packing with five goals in their basket. Khalifa broke the deadlock on 10 minutes before Sadomba scored on the half-hour mark, 37th minute and two minutes from half, and Eltaib put the icing on the cake nine minutes past the hour mark.
The result leaves Makepekepe needing to score five goals without reply at Rufaro to at least force a penalty shootout in the return leg.
