Central region Division One league resumes

The Zifa Central Region resumes this weekend after a one-month World Cup break.
The league enters week nine as log leaders and title favourites Mimosa look to stretch their unbeaten streak to nine games when they travel to Gweru on Sunday to take on Big Valley Masters (BVM).
BVM are in a serious financial quandary which has left club director Philemon Mubata contemplating selling the franchise.
More than six players including captain and former Caps United players Tineyi Meda and Charles Manjera have deserted the ailing club while Charles Makoto is reported to be on trials at an unnamed South African club.
BVM—who are in third place, were having a good run of form before the break, but this weekend they face the mammoth task of hosting a Mimosa side which has won all its matches on the road.
A Gweru derby is on the cards tomorrow when Gweru Pirates host second-placed Hardbody at Mkoba Stadium.
Pirates have also been victims of player exit as the financial quagmire takes its toll on most clubs.
Innocent Chogugudza-coached Chapungu entertain Mateta at Ascot Stadium tomorrow while perennial Division One campaigners Border Strikers welcome struggling Air Stars at Dulibadzimu on Saturday.
Luke Petros-Jukulile’s Chrome Stars have a home date against Gwanda side CMED Justice at Chrome Stadium.
Tongogara engage Ziscosteel at Amaveni Stadium while Rutendo Stars will be at home against Silo United at Rutendo Stadium.
Basement side BOC Gases, who were pencilled to visit fellow strugglers McInn will be inactive after they requested to be excused from the league due to viability challenges.
They are in negotiations with Midlands Division Two A outfit Gweru United who are interested in buying their franchise.
