Zimbabwe National Army side Black Rhinos are leading the way in the race for promotion into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League from the MCM Estates Zifa Northern Region.
The 22 teams have gone on the half season break and Rhinos lead fellow former Premiership side Harare City by four points with action returning on August 5.
Chipembere have 41 points while Harare City have 36 points, the same as G and T Mine while Ngezi Platinum Stars Under 19 are on 33 points and Black Eagles on 31 points
CP Chemicals also on 31 points are still not out of the race for the championship although observers believe the race is between Black Rhinos and Harare City
Cranbourne Bullets on 30 points and Chingwere on 29 points round off the top eight teams who will contest the Top 8 tournament.
Chingwere who at one time held pole position have been drawn to play Black Rhinos in the Super 8 tournament to be contested for on August 1 and 2.
Harare City on their part will face Cranbourne Bullets while G and T Mine engage CP Chemicals with Ngezi Platinum Under 19 up against Black Eagles.
Three teams from the Zifa Northern Region, FC Oden, Marere, and Mwos Under 19, are also still in the Zifa Munhumutapa Challenge Cup which is now at the Round of 32 stage.
