Copac co-chairperson Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana Sunday said several meetings were abandoned in Harare as a result of violent clashes between rival political parties while outreach teams failed to make it to scheduled meetings in various parts of Harare.
Mangwana said investigations into the disturbances would be carried out with a view to finding out the real cause of the skirmishes.
Mangwana was actually caught up in the violent skirmishes in Mbare and had to be escorted out by the police.
He confirmed two meetings had also been abandoned in Budiriro for the same reasons.
Douglas Mwonzora, the other Copac co-chairperson, said he was still in the process of compiling reports of what had transpired at various meeting points.
