Dembo brothers shelve plans to release album

-

Morgan and Tendai Dembo, sons of the late legend Leonard Dembo, have been advised by their manager Benjamin Ganyiwa not to rush into releasing their debut album but concentrate on live shows to perfect their skills first.

The duo has featured as supporting acts to artistes like Alick Macheso and Sulumani Chimbetu.

The late Dembo’s shoes are just too big to fill, and he is definitely going to be a hard act to follow even for his progeny.

Ganyiwa said the forthcoming album will have the flavour of the original Barura Express music.

He said the late great Dembo was a multi-talented musician whose talents are coming out through Morgan.

While Morgan sounds like his father, Tendai has the father’s touch on the lead guitar.

During live shows, the two often play their father’s old songs like Kanganwiro, Chitekete and Ndokumbirawo Kurarama as well as their own compositions.

The eight-member Barura Express is made up of entirely new members. Macheso advised them to revive the name Barura Express.

The siblings have been inspired by children of other late superstars like Sulumani Chimbetu.
