The tournament, which carries the simple but powerful message "Let Kids Play", kicks off at 09:00 with vetting beginning at 08:00, giving families and local clubs ample time to register and settle in before the action gets underway.

Eight teams from across Harare will descend on Stodart Public Grounds in Mbare for the Shingirirayi Youth Ministry Under-13 Soccer Tournament, organised in partnership with Harare City Council and the Mbare Junior Soccer League 2026 in what promises to be a day of football, community and youth development.

The tournament, which carries the simple but powerful message "Let Kids Play", kicks off at 09:00 with vetting beginning at 08:00, giving families and local clubs ample time to register and settle in before the action gets underway.

Eight teams have been drawn into two groups of four. Group A features Blue Stars FC, Kuyamurana FA, BM Athletics and HUYSA, while Group B consists of Sunningdale Pirates, Herentals FA, Zim Higher Grade FA and ASEC United. Each team will play three group stage matches before the top two sides from each group advance to the semi-finals, with the group winners crossing over to face the runners-up from the opposite group. A third-place playoff and a final will complete the day's programme.

The tournament is open to the public and all local clubs and parents are warmly invited to attend what the organisers have described as a day of football, community, fellowship and youth development.

For the young players involved, Saturday represents exactly the kind of opportunity that grassroots football in Zimbabwe needs more of, structured, competitive and community-driven football that gives children a safe and positive environment to develop their love of the game.
