HARARE, Jul. 17 (NewsDay Live) – Triangle Limited has confirmed the death of contractor Jeffry Mushara, who succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident at the company’s refinery earlier this week.
In a statement issued Friday, the sugar producer said the incident occurred on July 14, prompting the immediate activation of emergency response procedures. Mushara received initial treatment at the company’s Colin Saunders Hospital before being airlifted to a medical facility in Harare, where he died in the early hours of July 16.
Triangle said Mushara was employed by a contracted company and was working at its refinery when the accident happened.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jeffry Mushara. On behalf of all at Triangle Ltd, I extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” managing director Tendai Masawi said.
“This is a tragic incident that has affected all of us. Our focus is on supporting those impacted and cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation. We remain steadfast in our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of every person working at our operations.”
The company said it was cooperating fully with the relevant authorities as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident continue.
