SHE won the African Continental Championship last month and now she is back in the UCI top 100. Stacey is not just making a comeback, she is making a statement.

The Zimbabwean mountain biker claimed a podium double at the SA XCO Cup in Gauteng, finishing third in the cross-country Olympic event and fourth in the cross-country short circuit, results that have propelled her back into the UCI world rankings top 100 where her performances clearly belong.

The Gauteng results follow an outstanding African Continental Championship campaign just last month, where Stacey claimed the continental title in the XCO event and finished second in the XCC, establishing herself as the dominant force in African mountain biking at present.

The back-to-back performances across two consecutive months paint the picture of an athlete who has found her best form at exactly the right time, with the LA28 Olympic Games on the horizon and qualification pathways becoming increasingly important for athletes in UCI-ranked disciplines.

For Zimbabwe, Stacey's rise represents one of the most exciting individual sporting stories in the country right now, coming at a time when Zimbabwean athletes across multiple disciplines are performing at their very best on the continental and international stage.

With UCI ranking points now accumulating and her confidence clearly at a high, the mountain bike trails of Los Angeles 2028 are very much in Stacey's sights.
