The triumph, which follows three agonising runner-up finishes in successive seasons, represents the ultimate vindication for manager Mikel Arteta and a squad that refused to surrender their belief despite coming so close and falling short repeatedly.

Arsenal have ended a lengthy title drought, clinching the Premier League championship for the first time in 22 years.

It is the first time that they are proclaiming 'We are Champions!' on social media.

The triumph, which follows three agonising runner-up finishes in successive seasons, represents the ultimate vindication for manager Mikel Arteta and a squad that refused to surrender their belief despite coming so close and falling short repeatedly.

Club legend Ian Wright was overcome with emotion as he celebrated with supporters. "It's just been so tough the last three years and to finally do it, honestly, what can I say? It's amazing! This club deserves it, our fans deserve it, all around the world and everybody. We deserve this, man," said Wright, voicing the feelings of millions of Arsenal supporters globally.

Bukayo Saka, arguably Arsenal's most influential player, delivered the quote of the moment with characteristic fire. "Light that up! 22 years, they was laughing and joking, they're not laughing anymore. It's going to be shining bright!"

Declan Rice, whose arrival at Arsenal signalled the club's serious title intentions, kept his Instagram message brief and powerful: "I told you all… it's done."

The celebrations also produced a historic footnote with Max Dowman becoming the youngest Premier League winner ever at just 16 years and 139 days old.

Even rival manager Pep Guardiola offered gracious congratulations. "They deserve it," the Manchester City boss said simply.
