The National Football League Draft is an annual event in which the National Football League teams select eligible college football players. It serves as the league’s most common source of player recruitment.

Maponga, who chose to forego his senior year at Texas Christian University and put his name in the draft, is reported to be attracting interest from the Dallas Cowboys. It is reported that he is fourth or fifth round pick.

Maponga left Zimbabwe with his mother and four siblings at the age of eight. While in US, he loved soccer and rugby, but ended up playing American Football instead.
