Opinion & Analysis
Christianity, as we know, is the only faith system that worships a present God and Saviour. We therefore serve and worship God all year round. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

EASTER has come and gone but, God Yahweh Shammah, is still ever present. He’s Emmanuel in Christ Jesus, the Immanent and Sovereign One.

Christianity, as we know, is the only faith system that worships a present God and Saviour. We therefore serve and worship God all year round. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

Let’s have a look at the descent of God to earth. Reading through the Gospels, which are, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we see the wisdom of God in what information to disseminate concerning His incarnation in Christ.

We define incarnation. Wikipedia puts it thus, “The incarnation of Christ (or Incarnation) is the central Christian doctrine that God became flesh, assumed a human nature, and became a man in the form of Jesus, the Son of God and the second person of the Trinity.

“This foundational Christian position holds that the divine nature of the Son of God was perfectly united with human nature in one divine Person, Jesus, making him both truly God and truly human.

“The theological term for this is hypostatic union: the second person of the Trinity, God the Son, became flesh when he was miraculously conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary.”

We know that Trinity is a term for redemption because fallen humanity needed sinless human being to be the substitutionary sacrifice. There are no three ‘Gods’. Deuteronomy 6:4 reads, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:” This means that Jehovah God, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one.

The Word of God is infallible, Psalm 33:4, “For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth.”

In the Gospels we read about the birth of Jesus, Him taken by Joseph to Egypt to avoid being killed by Herod. He’s later brought back to Nazareth. The Bible doesn’t give us so much information of his life before His public ministry.

Luke 3:23, New King James records, “Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, the son of Heli,”

From what we have already dealt with on this platform, the absence of those finer details help the believer to mould her/his life according to the triumphant resurrected Christ Whom we received to be born again believers.

Divine wisdom knew how many cults would be formed if we had information like Jesus beyond the Son of a carpenter. 2 Corinthians 5:16, New Living Translation, is instructive, “So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!”

These things are spiritual and in order to realise the victory, we have to be spiritual. 1 Corinthians 2:13 explains, “These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.”

Previously I said you’re NOT your physical body. As born again believers, we’re spirit, we have a soul and we live in a physical or natural body. At salvation it is the spirit that is born again or recreated. That’s the new creation or the new birth.

We then need to align our mind which is found in the soul with the new us. The new us (spirit) has the power to change our character and even resist and expel sickness and disease.

We check Romans 8:11, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Because of the Holy Spirit in us, we can deal with those things, bad habits and thoughts that are worldly.

Let’s take our position from the throne we’re seated with Christ and reign. Ephesians 2:6 tells us, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”

Furthermore we’re encouraged by Romans 5:17, “For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

As we’re on the throne, let’s look at Romans 12:2 which will give us the victorious Christian living; “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

New files are needed to tally with the new us (spirit). If for example the old man including woman used to sleep around with uncountable partners, the mind still remembers it.

One has to read, study, meditate and speak out loud verses like 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”

Even if you are about to commit adultery, you still speak out that you’re the temple of God. One day, you will stop because of the power in the Word.

I will give us more tools to deal with ungodly issues trying to rule over us next week. For now please digest Hebrews 4:12, New King James, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” This is so much power to use to expel nonsense.

I pray for pure and clean thoughts. You’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Grace and peace be multiplied to you through knowledge.
