The 22-year-old won the car after she was crowned Miss Zimbabwe 2014 at Mabvazuva Lodge in the capital, while First Princess Tendai Hunda and Second Princess Letwin Chinomona won a Chevrolet Spark Lite each.
After winning the cars, the three had to wait for a while to drive the cars since they all had no driver’s licences.
However, Phiri has become the first one to acquire the licence.
On Saturday Phiri posted the copy of the Learner’s Licence and the receipt on her Facebook page.
“This has made my morning. My first attempt at writing the provisional test and I aced it. What a great way to start a day. I cannot wait to drive,” she posted.
“To all those who don’t have one let’s start working on one you may never know when God may decide to bless you.

“I never expected to buy a car this year, let alone win one. I am so excited.”
Miss Zimbabwe Trust chaperon Nyarai Bwanya confirmed Thabiso was now driving the car.
“Thabiso is now driving her car under the supervision of a driver from the Miss Zimbabwe Trust, but we are yet to hand over the car to her until she obtains a driver’s licence,” Bwanya said.
“It is not only Thabiso who is using her car for her duties, even first princess Tendai Hunda and second princess Letwin Chinomona are using their cars, but being driven by our drivers from the Trust.”
Phiri and her two princesses according to Miss Zimbabwe Trust chairperson Marry Mubaiwa-Chiwenga are expected to return the cars after the duration of their terms.
Mubaiwa-Chiwenga said the three will have to return the cars to Miss Zimbabwe Trust, to be used for other purposes since she had to fork out her own money to finance the pageant.
If the models are to return the cars it will be the first time as previous winners of this and other pageants like Miss Carnival got to keep their vehicles.
For winning the Miss Zimbabwe crown, Phiri is going to represent the nation at the Miss World pageant to be held on December 14 in London, the United Kingdom.
