IN an industry where precision, creativity and reliability determine success, VW Events has emerged as a force to reckoned with, quietly but confidently transforming ordinary gatherings to unforgettable experiences.

Founded by Victor Mpofu (26) and Wellington Nkomo (30), VW Events is not just an events company; it is a story of passion, resilience and youthful determination.

“We were inspired by a passion for creating memorable events and providing high-quality, reliable event solutions and so we identified a need for professional sound, lighting and stage services and decided to turn our skills into a business,” they said.

What began as a shared vision has rapidly grown into a trusted brand providing professional sound, lighting, stage and event production services across weddings, concerts, corporate functions, church gatherings and community events.

The inspiration behind VW Events was born out of a deep love for creating moments that leave lasting impressions.

Recognising a gap in the market for dependable, high-quality sound and stage solutions, Mpofu and Nkomo chose to turn their technical skills into a business that prioritises excellence.

“We wanted to build something professional something people could trust with their most important moments,” Nkomo said.

VW Events offers a full suite of services, including PA sound systems, professional lighting, stage set-up, truss installation and technical support.

Its modern equipment, attention to detail and seamless execution set it apart in a competitive market.

Clients consistently praise the company’s professionalism, punctuality and ability to deliver under pressure, qualities that have earned VW Events repeat business and glowing referrals.

Despite challenges such as high equipment maintenance costs, intense competition and the logistical demands of large-scale events, VW Events has continued to grow.

Through strategic planning, investment in equipment and a strong work ethic, the company has expanded its capacity to handle increasingly complex productions.

“These challenges have strengthened our operational planning and service delivery.”

Much of this growth has come organically, driven by word of mouth, social media visibility and client referrals, a testament to the trust the brand has built in a short time.

“VW Events has grown through client referrals, improved service quality, expanded equipment and increased trust from customers. We continue to handle larger and more complex events,” Mpofu said .

VW Events caters for a broad clientele, including individuals, corporates, churches, schools, non-governmental organisations and artists.

Be it a wedding, conference, concert or community celebration, the company approaches every event with the same commitment to quality and excellence.

At the heart of VW Events lies a strong set of core values — professionalism, integrity, reliability, teamwork, innovation and customer satisfaction.

These principles guide every decision, from planning to execution, ensuring clients receive nothing but the best.

Customer feedback is taken seriously, with the team responding promptly to concerns and using feedback as a tool for continuous improvement.

“We handle feedback by listening carefully, responding promptly and resolving issues professionally.

“Customer feedback helps us to continuously improve our services.”

The founders draw inspiration from respected figures such as a Mugadza, Tendai Mudimu and Simon Phiri, whose leadership and work ethic continue to shape their entrepreneurial journey.

“Our role models, the people who inspired us the most, are Mugadza, Tendai Mudimu and Simon Phiri."

Looking ahead, VW Events aims to become a leading events and production company, known nationally for innovation, excellence and world-class service delivery.

With ambition, discipline and a growing reputation, the future looks exceptionally bright.

As the Zimbabwe events industry continues to evolve, one thing is clear VW Events is not just part of the conversation; it is shaping the future of event production.
