The Tsaona hitmaker succumbed to suspected meningitis at the Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare yesterday afternoon.

He was 50.

His younger brother, Josphat, said burial arrangements for the sungura musician would be announced in due course. “Yes, Daiton is no more. He died at Parirenyatwa. Can you phone me later for more details?” Josphat said.

Daiton hailed from the farming town of Marondera where he established his music career having co-founded Pengaudzoke Band with his younger brother Josphat.
