THE 2025 Mine Entra Exhibition, which runs concurrently with the Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Conference and Expo (AfriConfex 2025) till Friday, kicks of today.
The exhibition theme for this year is Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining, while AfriConfex's is Smart Moves: Powering Zimbabwe’s Infrastructure Evolution.
Mine Entra is one of the annual flagship events held in Bulawayo under the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company (ZITF).
During a pre-exhibition Press briefing, ZITF board chairperson Busisa Moyo said the dual event had attracted significant participation, with 240 exhibitors expected to participate.
“This figure includes 16 international direct exhibitors representing four countries: the People’s Republic of China, India, South Africa and the United Kingdom,” Moyo said.
“Exhibitors span a diverse range of sectors essential to the mining value chain, including heavy and light equipment suppliers, engineering firms, green technology providers, transport and logistics and financial and support services.”
He said the co-location of Mine Entra and AfriConfex was a strategic move designed to amplify cross-sectoral engagement, recognising that the future of mining was inextricably linked to sustainable energy, robust infrastructure and efficient logistics.
“Today the day begins with the intellectual firepower of the AfriConfex Conference and official opening in Hall 2, which will focus on integrated, climate-resilient, and sustainable infrastructural development, officially headlined by the minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Felix Mhona,” Moyo said.

“In the afternoon, Mine Entra’s commitment to business facilitation will be highlighted by the Buyers Programme Speed Networking Session in Hall 3, designed for structured procurement meetings between confirmed mining houses (including Zimasco, Unki Mine, Hwange Colliery Company and Blanket Mine), and various suppliers across the mining value chain.”
The highlight of the expo is the Mine Entra Conference and official opening ceremony scheduled for October 9 where President Emmerson Mnangagwa will preside.
He said the conference would commence with the Mining Industry Suppliers Forum, spearheaded by the Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe, adding that there would be a seminar on Environmental, Social and Governance Practices, and Sustainability in the Sector.
The forum will feature keynote speakers and panellists from the mining and associated industries.
The final day will focus on inclusivity and giving back, featuring the Zimbabwe Miners Federation’s Small and Medium Scale Mining Conference, focusing on sustainable practices and value chain integration for the artisanal sector.
The ZITF boss indicated that a concerted business visitor recruitment drive has yielded positive results, with most pre-registered business visitors holding senior decision-making positions.
International representation is also expected from Australia, Botswana, China, France, Germany, India, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Turkey, Zambia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.
