Terrace Africa has announced the development of a Jurassic Safari Theme Park at the Greenfields Retail Centre in Harare

Property developer Terrace Africa has announced the development of a Jurassic Safari Theme Park at the Greenfields Retail Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The company released a statement recently detailing plans for a permanent, year-round entertainment attraction designed to transform the location into a premier lifestyle destination.

The new theme park, which will be developed by the Rollers team, is set to feature an array of thrilling attractions suitable for visitors of all ages, the rising African real estate business said of the venture.

Highlights will include a rollercoaster, a carousel, bumper cars, a spin pulley and a signature 30-metre drop tower.

The Jurassic Safari Theme Park is projected to cost approximately US$1.8 million and is currently in the planning and development stages.

Construction is scheduled to be completed in the next couple of months, with the park expected to open its doors to the public before the end of 2026.

The new park will be situated on the grounds adjacent to Greenfields Retail Centre, replacing the existing seasonal fun park that operates during the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS).

The move aims to provide a continuous source of entertainment for families and shoppers.

"We are excited to bring this new entertainment offering to life," Charity Chirume, director at Terrace Africa, emphasized the significance of the project.

"The inclusion of ZAS grounds’ seasonal fun park will now evolve into a permanent, year-round attraction that will create memories for families and further cement Greenfields Retail Centre as a vibrant lifestyle destination.”

The announcement comes as part of a broader strategy to solidify Greenfields Retail Centre's position as a one-stop hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

In addition to the theme park, the centre is expanding its food and beverage offerings. New dining options, including a Steakhouse, Café, Irish Pub, and a Steers drive-thru, are scheduled to open before the end of 2025, complementing the existing retail and convenience focus.

Terrace Africa, the developer behind the project, has been operating since 2011 and has delivered over US$180 million worth of commercial and convenience retail projects across the continent.
