Armed robbers hit Jet Store in Bulawayo, steal cash

The robbery occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at the store on the corner of 9th Avenue and Fort Street.

BULAWAYO, Jul. 29 (NewsDay Live) — Suspected armed robbers stormed a Jet Store in central Bulawayo on Wednesday morning and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash after targeting a financial services outlet operating inside the shop.

The robbery occurred at about 9:30 a.m. at the store on the corner of 9th Avenue and Fort Street.

Witnesses said three armed men entered the premises before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the financial services outlet.

An armed response team from Safeguard Security and an armed officer from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) responded to the incident and sealed off the area while investigators examined the scene.

Police are  yet released an official statement about the robbery.
