Joyous Celebration Choir is expected to open the floodgates of spiritual worship on Saturday when the group performs at the International Conference Centre together with Sipho Makhabane, Derrick Nzimande, Pastor G, Charles Charamba and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, founder, director and producer of the group Joyous Celebration Lindelani Mkhize said they were humbled and excited that they were finally in Zimbabwe for the first time.
“A lot of people have tried to bring us here but all those attempts failed because we are particular about who we accept,” said Mkhize.
“Thanks to TN Bank for understanding who we are because good things start with prayers then blessings and growth follows.”
Mkhize said his fans together with the business world should expect a launch of a banking card with a difference.
“We will launch this new card in a new way and we are going to have an intimate relationship with the people tomorrow (Saturday) in praising and worshipping,” said Mkhize.
“People should know that Joyous Celebration is not a group but a concept to develop talent and give a platform and we might decide to do collaborations with Zimbabwe gospel artists and take them home to perfect them,” said Mkhize.
He also mentioned that Zimbabweans are talented citing an example of Mkululi Dube, first runner-up of CBZ A Academy who is working with Joyous Celebration but added that talent alone is not enough as there is need to develop and nurture it. Charles Charamba was also glad to be among the praise and worship vessels.

“I am glad to be part of this great dream and be part of TN Holdings and hope tomorrow (Saturday) there will be no power cuts,” said Charamba ironically referring to a his recent show that was marred by power outage.
Amos Mahendere said it was a dream come true for his group and he thanked TN Bank for inviting Joyous Celebration to this country.
“We are promising fireworks because as Mahendere Brothers we always try to copy some of our dances from Joyous Celebration and finally we will be sharing the same stage,” said Amos.
However, in what could be a landmark in the local music history, Mahendere Brothers are also set to participate in Joyous Celebrations’ 15th album which will be recorded at the end of the year.
Mahendere confirmed the development to NewsDay soon after the press conference.
“Yes, Mahendere brothers will take part in the upcoming 15th album of Joyous Celebration though it will happen by the grace of God,” said the energetic singer and dancer.
