Fans stormed the stage at Kugoka Inn in Rusape as they jostled to get closer to the gospel musician when he began his performance on Friday night.

Police took time to clear the stage as fans battled to embrace Shumba, who has taken the local music scene by storm.

Shumba’s first two songs Mufaro and Hama were enough to send the fans wild and push forward for physical contact with the musician clad in a grey suit.

An unidentified woman was heard shouting she wanted to touch Shumba so as to scare away demons.

“I heard he is a pastor, so I want to touch him so that I can be saved,” she shouted.

Shumba came on stage around midnight and put a splendid performance at the Easter gig that also featured Nicholas Zakaria and Leonard Zhakata.

Zakaria and Zhakata performed well in the exciting gig that was well attended. Show promoter Leonard Manhanhanha of Mana Promotions said he was happy the musicians were committed adding it his passion as a new promoter to take musicians to rural areas.

“I am happy that these three have shown their commitment to the show and it is my passion as an upcoming promoter to have more popular musicians come to perform at this rural venue.”
