AT just 22 years old, Nomqhele Sisa Nkomo is not simply wearing crowns.
Instead, she is building a legacy.
Elegant, intelligent and purpose-driven, the Bulawayo-born beauty queen has quickly become one of Zimbabwe’s most inspiring young women, capturing attention not only for her beauty, but for the powerful story unfolding behind each title she earns.
A second-year journalism student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Nkomo’s rise in pageantry has been nothing short of extraordinary.
From being crowned Miss NUST 2025 to later claiming the prestigious Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2025 title, her journey has steadily transformed her into one of the country’s brightest pageantry stars.
Now, she steps into yet another defining chapter after officially being crowned Miss Global Zimbabwe 2026, a title that will once again see her carry the Zimbabwe flag onto the international stage.
“I will once again have the honour of representing Zimbabwe internationally at Miss Global, in Thailand,” Nkomo said.
For many, pageantry is about glamour, flashing cameras and sparkling gowns.

But for Nkomo, it has become something far deeper, a platform for impact, representation and purpose.
“It is a journey that continues to inspire many young women across the country,” she added.
Her international breakthrough came last year when she proudly represented Zimbabwe in Malaysia, an experience she describes as humbling and life-changing.
Competing alongside women from across the globe exposed her to new cultures, strengthened her confidence and ignited an even greater passion to represent her country with pride.
The recognition and overwhelming support she received during that journey became the driving force behind her continued rise.
Now, all eyes are on Thailand.
From September 29 to October 12 this year, she will represent Zimbabwe at the internationally-acclaimed Miss Global competition, where she is expected to rub shoulders with some of the world’s most accomplished queens.
Beyond the crowns and international spotlight lies a young woman deeply committed to changing lives.
Nkomo is the founder of Green Minds, an advocacy initiative focused on the intersection between mental health and environmental awareness, two issues she believes are deeply connected.
“Through school talks, workshops, mental health conversations and community clean-up campaigns, I’m using my growing platform to inspire healthier minds, healthier communities and a healthier environment.”
Her message is simple, yet powerful, one that emphasises that emotional wellbeing and environmental responsibility cannot be separated.
Her achievements continue to elevate her profile nationally.
Nkomo remains proudly rooted in Bulawayo, a city she believes is steadily becoming a powerhouse within Zimbabwe’s pageantry industry.
“Proudly representing Bulawayo, I see my pageantry journey as part of a bigger story, one that continues to position the city as a true powerhouse of beauty, talent and queens who inspire beyond the crown.”
The continued success of queens emerging from Bulawayo reflects the city’s growing influence, talent and excellence on national and international stages.
Passing the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe crown to yet another Bulawayo queen for 2026 was, for Nkomo, more than just a ceremonial moment it was a celebration of sisterhood, unity and the undeniable rise of Bulawayo within the pageantry world.
As preparations for Thailand officially begin, Nkomo says she is excited to share every step of the journey with the public from intense training sessions and preparation camps to advocacy projects, collaborations and partnerships leading up to the global competition.
Nkomo warmly welcomes partnerships and sponsorship opportunities from individuals and organisations committed to elevating Zimbabwe’s representation on the international stage as preparations for Miss Global 2026 continue.
“I warmly accept partnerships and sponsorship opportunities,” she said.
With beauty, intelligence, grace, and purpose all working in harmony, Nkomo is proving that modern queens are far more than glamorous faces, they are leaders, visionaries and changemakers.
And as Zimbabwe prepares to watch her step onto the Miss Global stage in Thailand, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: this is not just another pageantry journey, it is the rise of a queen determined to inspire a nation and leave her mark on the world.
