SWEDEN-BASED Afro-fusion musician, Luckson Chikutu, popularly known as ManLuckerz, has urged local artistes to support grassroot talent for the betterment of the arts and culture industry.

The award-winning musician recently donated Chinyambera dance costumes to Chinyenyetu Primary School in Gokwe.

The school used the costumes at the Gokwe North district competitions, held a few months ago, and came out tops.

ManLuckerz did part of his primary education at Chinyenyetu Primary School.

“I played my part in donating the Chinyambera Dance costumes to the team at Chinyenyetu Primary School and it excelled in its local traditional dance competitions,”he said.

“As long as there are people to safeguard and support our culture, our heritage will endure.

“I encourage other artistes or alumni to plough back and invest in these young artistes for the betterment of our traditional dance and culture.”

Added ManLuckerz: “I want these learners to be confident and preserve their culture.

“I had also to donate my novel FlashBack Identity, so that they get inspired by the journey I have travelled in preserving the Zimbabwean tradition and culture.”

ManLuckerz is well known across Europe, especially in Scandinavian countries, for traditional dance live performances.
