GOSPEL artist Lucia Zimunya popularly known as Mai Zimunya has released a new single, “Unobuda Pakaoma,” that give hope to people in crisis.
The song is now available on all major streaming platforms.
The release is characterized by Zimunya not as mere entertainment, but as a divine directive.
“As we were compiling the song list, God gave me Isaiah 43:19,” Zimunya said, referencing the scripture about God making a way in the wilderness.
She ties the song’s genesis to her personal testimony.
“There are so many times when God has fought for me," she said.
The artist, who is also a registered realtor and CEO of two companies, Purple Iris Closet and KayLue Properties, described the song’s intent with pointed urgency.
“It’s a song of hope to that person who feels like throwing in the towel,” Zimunya said.

"Unobuda pakaoma is a promise that God is giving to His people.”
The single was developed in collaboration with Vocal Director Victor Moyo and is produced by her husband and executive producer, Kuziva Zimunya.
She credits this partnership as critical to managing her multifaceted career.
“My husband Kuziva is my rock and partner in ministry… we serve together, work together and lift each other up,” Zimunya said.
With the release, Zimunya signals a deliberate shift in her musical approach, promising “fresh sounds blending traditional hymnal songs with modern gospel flair” and declaring, “It’s revival time.”
Born and raised in Chitungwiza Unit D, she discovered her passion for singing at a young age, growing through school and church platforms.
Since the age of 15, she has been blending rich traditional harmonies with modern gospel sounds, creating a unique and soulful worship experience.
The song is complemented by a live recording.
During the live recording, direction was led by Anesu Mapfumba.
It was arranged by Victor Moyo and Munashe Ndadzibaya.
Production was handled by Victor Mahayamba, with Yousef T Gurupira responsible for mixing and mastering.
Sound was captured by Pastor Simba Bapiro.
Videography was completed by Naledi Productions, while lighting, stage, and sound reinforcement were managed by Epic Sets.
The event was held at the 99 Parklane Auditorium.
The performing band, under the direction of Anesu Mapfumba, featured Munashe Ndadzibaya on main keys, Victor Mahayamba on second keys, Jeff Sibanda on organ, Taka Mukundu on lead guitar, Naphtali Chivandikwa on bass, and Prince Madhiwali on drums.
