DSTV subscribers across four package categories are enjoying free automatic upgrades throughout January and February, enhancing their viewing experience at no extra cost as part of the broadcaster’s New Year promotion.
The offer, which applies to customers on the Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access packages, falls under DStv’s We Got You initiative — a campaign aimed at easing the financial strain traditionally associated with January.
Under the promotion, DStv Access subscribers are upgraded to Family, Family customers move to Compact, Compact subscribers receive Compact Plus, while Compact Plus customers gain access to Premium content. The upgrade applies automatically to connected customers.
MultiChoice Zimbabwe head of corporate affairs and public relations, Gerald Ngonyamo, said the promotion covered existing customers who remained connected, those who reconnected during the promotional period, as well as new subscribers who join between January 1 and February 28.
He added that the promotion offered welcome relief to families, allowing them to experience premium content and enhanced viewing without paying more than their current subscription.
“January is the month where life picks up speed again after the festive season, with tighter budgets, back-to-school, paying annual bills. By staying connected, viewers in the four package groups will get all the benefits of the next-level package while We Got You runs for the whole of January and the whole of February,” Ngonyamo said.
He said active, reconnecting and new subscribers who paid their subscriptions in full during the promotional period would automatically qualify for the upgrade.
Ngonyamo said through the We Got You upgrade, they wanted to help to bring families together without stretching January budgets.

“Let households pay less, but unlock more stories, more channels, more sports, more children’s favourites, more local entertainment and more international content. The upgrade applies to decoder viewing and at the end of the promotion period, subscribers will simply revert to their usual packages,” he said.
