BULAWAYO is set to host a comedy spectacle as Umahlekisa Entertainment welcomes a vibrant line-up of comedians — including two from South Africa — for a family-friendly show aimed at merging entertainment with tourism promotion.

Founder Ntando Moyo confirmed that the event will feature top names such as Siyanda Maphumulo and Khanyisa Bhunu from South Africa alongside local favourites like General Lesley, Mbongeni, Ignatius, Zoe Hlabangana and Bleh Mutandwa.

Comedy lovers can expect surprise cameos from Babongile Sikhonjwa and Sipho Mercent Nyathi.

“This is more than just a comedy show. We’re using comedy as a tool to promote Bulawayo as a tourist destination,” Moyo said.

“Our visiting comedians will engage in a short boot camp with local comics, followed by a tour of the city’s cultural landmarks to document and vlog their experience.”

The event, designed as a family-friendly affair, will feature live music, secure parking and giveaways for VVIP ticket holders.

“We’ve made sure the content is clean and enjoyable for all ages,” Moyo added.

The initiative also doubles as comedy tourism, with Umahlekisa positioning Bulawayo as a hub for arts, culture and laughter.
