BULAWAYO-BASED artiste Lungelo Ncube, known in the music industry as Lungelo B, has dropped his debut six-track album with kwaito and amapiano genres.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Lingelo B said his album, Umakhelwane, depicts ghetto life.

“The title of the album is Umakhelwane and it has a track that speaks about a jealousy neighbour who is always failing to mind his own business but busy gossiping about other people's issues,” he said.

The artiste said the album had a blend of kwaito, house  and amapiano genres.

"The album has some songs in kwaito because when I was young I used to like kwaito and had to add amapiano as it is a popular genre,” he said.

Lungelo B said he was inspired by artistes such as Mandoza and Mbongeni Ngema.

“In the album I have a track which I featured with Mzoe 7 who is popular in the music industry and I hope I will have more audience to help me to grow,” he revealed.

Lungelo B said working on the album was not easy as it required capital which was not readily available.

"The journey to recording the album was not easy and the likes of Mjox from Sky Metro FM helped me for the dream to come true and now I have released my first album," he said.

Lungelo B said the dedication helped him to release his first album, adding that he began his career in 2020. The artiste said he was able to withstand the challenges he faced during the recording process.

“I hope my album will inspire young artistes from the ghetto. I have a track called Number Number which talks about the songs we used to listen during the kwaito days,” he said.

Lungelo B said the music industry required a lot of the money for one to record and one needed guidance from artistes that have made it within the industry.
