Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has attributed the intermittent service disruptions being experienced across most of its platforms to some technical challenges.

In a brief statement addressed to its "Valued Customers," the country's largest telecommunications operator acknowledged the ongoing service degradation, though it did not specify the root cause of the system malfunction.

"Please note that we are currently experiencing network challenges that have affected voice and data services for some customers," the company said.

The network glitch has left affected users temporarily unable to make standard phone calls or data connections.

"We are working diligently to resolve the challenges. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused," the company said.
