CORRECTIONAL Queens head coach Tsitsi Shiri has promised an aggressive and disciplined performance when her side travels to Mkushi Academy to face log leaders and defending champions Herentals Queens in the Zimbabwe Women Premier Soccer League (ZWPSL) on Saturday.
Shiri, whose side sits fourth on the standings, says the team has undergone significant changes in approach following their last defeat to Harare City Queens and is determined to make a statement against the league's pacesetters.
"After testing a defeat, we have changed a lot in terms of approaching the game. Tomorrow we are promising 'mabviravira'. The 'Nduraness' (nickname) will be at work from the first whistle till the end," Shiri told NewsDay Sport.
"I did emphasise to my players on high pressing, solid defence, quick transition from defence to attack, maintaining our shape and rebuild starting from the back."
The clash between Herentals Queens and Correctional Queens headlines a busy weekend of ZWPSL action, with a, full roaster scheduled across today and Sunday, all kicking off at 11am.
Saturday's programme also sees Platinum Royals host Faith Drive Academy at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane, Chegutu Community Queens take on Chapungu Queens at Pfupajena Stadium and Black Rhinos Queens face Rufaro Starlets Academy at One Commando Grounds.
Sunday's action gets underway at Cranborne Royals, who host Harare City Queens at One Commando Grounds, while Ngezi Platinum Queens takes on Conduit Soccer Academy at Baobab Stadium. Mpopoma Sports Academy rounds off the weekend's fixtures when they entertain Kwekwe Queens at Bulawayo Chiefs Village.
