PREMIERSHIP outfit Manica Diamonds has appointed Mberikwazvo Chitambo as it's patron a major boost ahead of Sunday's clash against Dynamos at Sakubva Stadium.
Chitambo, a Sakunda Holdings Chief Operations Officer was appointed yesterday by Manicaland Premiership side as they continue to restructure team for stability and success in the current season.
Manica Diamonds is leaving no stone unturned after also recently appointed Zanu PF deputy national political commissar Taurai Kundishaya as its secretary general.
The club announced the appointment in a statement yesterday.
"Congratulations to our new patron Mberikwazvo Chitambo.We extend our deepest gratitude for rallying behind Manicaland Diamonds FC.Your support leadership and belief in our vision inspire us to reach greater heights," reads the statement.
The club is showing signs of revival under new president Evans Kamombo, whose leadership has restored confidence among supporters and attracted renewed interest from potential sponsors.
The club had plunged into turmoil after Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) abruptly ended its sponsorship of the Premier Soccer League side earlier this season.
Kamombo in supporting President Emmerson Mnangagwa vision purchased the team to keep Premiership in Manicaland province leaving no one and no place behind.
