Zacc arrests Chiredzi Town Council's secretary

In a statement Zacc said 47-year-old Kubiku hired unqualified employees affecting good administration at the institution.

HARARE, Jul. 21 (NewsDay Live) - The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) has arrested Chiredzi Town Council acting town secretary, Consider Kubiku over allegations of criminal abuse of public office.

In a statement Zacc said 47-year-old Kubiku hired unqualified employees affecting good administration at the institution.

"He (Kubiku) allegedly bypassed Council recruitment procedures to create managerial posts and facilitate irregular promotions of unqualified employees, resulting in prejudice to the good administration of the Council," said the commission in a social media post.

Kubiku has been granted bail and will return to court on 13 August 2026.
