Zanu PF national chairperson and Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri has announced that she will pay for the first 1,000 fans who attend the Premiership match between Manica Diamonds and Highlanders this Sunday.
Muchinguri made the remarks yesterday in the capital while congratulating a Zanu PF Manicaland youth executive member for acquiring the Manica Diamonds franchise.
Muchinguri applauded Evans Kamombo for his business success and for giving back to society, heeding President Emmerson Mnangagwa's calls.
"I want to congratulate my child and comrade Evans Kamombo who brought a team Manica Diamonds, more and more if our children is doing well and giving back to the society," she said.
"President is saying we should be in bussiness not only from outsiders , l have decided to fund 1 000 fans on Sunday in match between Highlanders and Manica Diamonds," she said.
Thousands of football fans are expected to pack Sakubva Stadium for the encounter.
Meanwhile, Manica Diamonds has appointed Zanu PF deputy political commissar Taurai Kandishaya as their new secretary-general.
"We are pleased to announce the appointment of Taurai Kundishaya as the new secretary general of Manica Diamonds FC," a club official said.
