The Sheffield Wednesday midfielder's comments came amid mounting excitement from Zimbabwean football followers who had dared to dream of seeing the experienced Premier League veteran turn out in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League for Scott Sakupwanya's ambitious Scottland FC project.

Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder Marvelous Nakamba has moved to quell down growing speculation linking him with a move to Scottland FC, insisting he is not currently planning a return to the Castle lager Premiership while simultaneously refusing to completely close the door on the possibility.

Nakamba was measured but warm in his response, acknowledging the quality of players who have already made the move while making his current position clear. "You can never say no, but for now, to tell you the truth, I'm here, supporting my brother Honourable Scott Sakupwanya who is doing great things for Zimbabwean football," he said, in quotes that will keep the rumour mill turning despite his attempts to manage expectations.

The midfielder was full of praise for those who have already returned, specifically referencing Khama and Knowledge. "They are great players, I've played with them before. It's good for the league, it's good for the country. They are raising the flag high, coming back home is good for the brand of football."

Nakamba has been released by English Championship side Sheffield Wednesday who decided not to renew his short term deal after they were delegated to the third tier League One.

While he still fancies remaining in England, Scotland appears to have the financial muscle and ambition to lure Nakamba to return home.

They would need to bolster their squad further as they prepare for a debut appearance on the CAF Champions League which kicks off in August.
