IN a strategic move aimed at revitalising its campaign in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League, Bikita Chida Athletic Club (BCAC) have appointed seasoned coach Soul Chaminuka as its new head coach, with immediate effect.
The decision comes after a challenging start to the season that has seen the club languishing near the bottom of the league standings.
Founded in 2026, BCAC is one of the newest entrants in Zimbabwe’s competitive football landscape, representing Bikita District in the Eastern Region Division One.
Despite its fresh presence on the scene, the club’s early results have been less than encouraging. After seven matches, BCAC have secured only one victory, with two draws and four losses, accumulating a total of five points.
Currently sitting third from bottom among 20 teams, the club faces an uphill battle to climb the table.
The club’s management made the decision to part ways with Dzikamai Muvhimi by mutual consent following a string of poor results that threatened its ambitions for survival and growth in the league.
The change underscores BCAC’s commitment to turning its fortunes around and reflects a proactive approach by the executive committee.
Chaminuka is widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s most experienced football coaches. His coaching career includes stints with the Warriors during the 2024 Cosafa tournament in South Africa, where he served as assistant to Jairosi Tapera.

He has also coached several prominent local clubs, including ZPC Kariba, Bikita Minerals and GreenFuel. Notably, he was appointed head coach of Dynamos FC in May 2025 with the specific task of steering the team away from relegation—a challenge he addressed through tactical discipline and improved team cohesion.
Chaminuka’s appointment signals BCAC’s intent to leverage his extensive expertise in navigating difficult periods. His familiarity with Zimbabwean football dynamics—both at club and national levels—positions him well to craft strategies that could turn around the club’s season.
In an official statement released on Monday, BCAC’s executive expressed optimism about the new appointment:
“BCAC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr S. Chaminuka as its new head coach, with immediate effect. He assumes full responsibility for the club’s technical leadership, and the executive committee has pledged its full institutional support to ensure he has the necessary resources and a conducive environment to succeed.”
The executive also acknowledged supporters’ patience during this transitional phase:
“We wish to thank our loyal supporters for their unwavering dedication during this period. Your commitment remains vital to our progress, and we are confident that under coach Chaminuka’s guidance, we will improve our performances.”
While immediate results remain critical, BCAC’s management emphasised a long-term vision rooted in strategic development and tactical discipline.
With Chaminuka’s arrival, fans hope to see a marked improvement in team performance as the club aims to climb the league standings.
