THE African Women in Sports Initiatives (AWISI) on Tuesday honoured 20 women from across the continent for an outstanding job in sports leadership.
Among the awarded are Zimbabwe’s hockey official Sarah Bennett and Maculwamahle Nkomo, the provincial co-ordinator of the Zimbabwe National Boxing Control Board.
The 2026 AWISI awards recognised women’s impact in sports.
Award-winners were selected from 75 nominations across 17 countries, with a distinguished panel of 13 continental women judges tasked with selecting these outstanding leaders.
