MASHONALAND West Division Two side Barca Kadoma FC have signed former Caps United Football Club and Simba Bhora Football Club midfielder Hardlife Zvirekwi in a bid to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026 season.
Barca Kadoma compete in the Mashonaland West Division 2B League.
Last season, the Kadoma-based side narrowly missed out on promotion, topping its league only to lose in a playoff shootout against Chingwere FC, which decided the Northern Region Soccer League Division One slot.
Speaking to NewsDay Sport, Zvirekwi expressed optimism about his new chapter and the opportunity to guide the team.

“I am glad to be at Barca Kadoma. I have been given an opportunity to come and play as a senior player. My main objective is to help these youngsters achieve their dream, which is to play in the topflight league,” he said.
“Our main target at the moment is to gain promotion into Division One. It’s not going to be an easy task, but we are ready for the challenge.”
Bringing a wealth of experience from his time as Caps United captain, Zvirekwi overcame a 2017 car accident that left him with a partially amputated left hand and made a remarkable comeback to professional football.

He later played a pivotal role for Simba Bhora, helping the club earn promotion from the Northern Region Division One League to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
At Barca Kadoma, Zvirekwi is expected to mentor younger players, replicating his previous success in guiding squads toward promotion.
Club president Matthew Maveto said said lessons from last season have shaped a deliberate strategy to boost competitiveness.
“2025 was a good season, but in the end, we didn’t achieve what we had set out to do,” he said.
This year, we are focused on blending new talent with experience. Hardlife Zvirekwi joins the squad for the 2026 season as part of this strategy.
Barca Kadoma have restructured its executive, technical, and coaching teams to bolster their promotion push, appointing former player and football analyst David Sengu as head coach, with Rodwell Chinyengetere as his assistant.
