HARARE, Mar. 20 (NewsDay Live) – American marriage experts Tony and Alisa DiLorenzo arrived at Harare International Airport on Friday evening for a week-long series of marriage enrichment sessions themed “One Extraordinary Marriage Conference – The Africa Tour.”

The DiLorenzos, acclaimed authors of The Six Pillars of Intimacy and hosts of the globally recognised One Extraordinary Marriage podcast, are partnering with Zimworx to deliver sessions aimed at strengthening marriages, preparing singles for meaningful relationships, and promoting holistic family wellness.

Zimworx, in partnership with Young Couples Hub, has lined up an extensive programme beginning with a free couples session at Zimbali Gardens on Saturday, March 21, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM CAT.

This will be followed by singles sessions on March 23 and 25 at FunZone from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, including dinner. On March 26, the DiLorenzos will host a dinner session for AmCham members focused on the Six Pillars of Intimacy.

Church leaders, pastors, and chaplains will attend a dedicated clinic on March 27, ahead of a public couples picnic expected to draw about 150 couples. The tour will then extend to Zambia and Victoria Falls, with sessions running from March 30 to March 31.

Tony DiLorenzo described The Six Pillars of Intimacy as a framework developed from years of working with couples.

“The six pillars of intimacy were God-breathed. Alisa wrote the book in five months—it was a culmination of years of studying and conversations with couples. The goal is to give people a framework to see their marriage differently.”

The pillars—emotional, physical, financial, spiritual, recreational, and sexual intimacy—will be presented throughout the seminars as practical tools to help couples identify gaps and strengthen their relationships.

He explained:

“Emotional intimacy is how you communicate. Physical intimacy is non-sexual touch. Financial intimacy covers everything about money. Spiritual intimacy reflects shared faith practices. Recreational intimacy is about having fun together, and finally, sexual intimacy.”

Alisa DiLorenzo stressed the importance of discussing finances before marriage.

“It’s something couples should talk about before they get married, because your upbringing and beliefs around money come into the marriage and start showing up from day one.”

Zimworx Philanthropy Lead Blessing Makwara said the initiative aligns with the organisation’s broader wellness agenda.

“We are concerned about the wellness of team members—at work, at home, and in society. Strong families build strong communities and ultimately a strong nation.”

Chido Guntselio, Executive Strategy Partner for Workplace Wellness and Philanthropy, added:

“If we strengthen marriages, we strengthen citizens. Family is the nucleus of society, and marriage is its foundation.”

She also highlighted Zimworx’s expansion into Victoria Falls through a new IT hub, alongside its continued investment in youth empowerment and community development.

Zimworx is a global business process outsourcing (BPO) company employing over 1,000 people in Zimbabwe. Its services include marketing, administration, IT support, and call verification for clients in the United States and Europe.

The company says its mission is to transform lives while making a global impact, with a strong focus on holistic wellness across work, home, and community—anchored on the belief that strong marriages underpin strong families, communities, and national development.
