HARARE, Aug. 16 (NewsDay Live) — The National Business Excellence Awards will celebrate a decade of recognising businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals driving Zimbabwe’s economic and social development at a ceremony scheduled for next month.
The awards, now in their 10th year, will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) under the theme “The Powerhouse of Our Nation Edition”, with organisers positioning the event as a celebration of excellence across multiple sectors of society.
Organisers said the awards would recognise businesses and individuals contributing to the country’s development, including entrepreneurs, technology innovators, builders, educators, medical professionals, lawyers, farmers, car dealers and brand developers.
The awards will also recognise musicians, pastors, churches and liberation heroes, reflecting what organisers described as the contribution of different sections of society to creating an environment in which businesses and communities can thrive.
“This decade, we honour the businesses and leaders driving Zimbabwe’s economy forward,” organisers said in a statement.
The organisers said the selection process was supported by a team of researchers working with organisations and individuals to identify nominees considered deserving of national recognition.
The awards come as Zimbabwe continues efforts to strengthen domestic enterprise, entrepreneurship and investment as part of broader economic development initiatives.
Organisers said this year’s event would seek to celebrate the contribution of both established businesses and emerging enterprises to the national economy.
