The Hills Lock tennis brothers

WESTPROP Holdings has signed Zimbabwe’s top-ranked tennis stars, Benjamin and Courtney Lock, as ambassadors for the Hills Tennis Centre, a flagship facility within the forthcoming Hills Luxury Golf and Lifestyle Estate, in a move set to reshape Harare’s sporting and lifestyle landscape.

The partnership positions The Hills as a multi-sport destination, where elite tennis converges with championship golf, wellness, community development and investment.

The agreement comes as construction milestones gather pace, with the estate’s first golf tee expected to open in December and the practice range scheduled for completion by the end of February, signalling major progress in the modernisation of golf infrastructure.

WestProp Holdings chief executive Ken Sharpe feels the partnership is a “movement that will inspire athletes, empower communities, and redefine Zimbabwe’s place on the global sporting stage”.

The Hills is designed as more than a luxury golf course, envisaged as a self-contained lifestyle destination that blends sport, leisure and modern living.

The estate will feature lush fairways, a state-of-the-art tennis centre, gym and recovery zones, a pro shop and a vibrant clubhouse, offering residents and visitors a holistic lifestyle experience.

Families will enjoy retail and leisure amenities, while sports enthusiasts gain access to facilities built to international standards.

By appointing the Lock brothers ambassadors, The Hills brings Zimbabwe’s most accomplished tennis professionals into the centre of its long-term vision.

The Hills Tennis Centre will serve as the brothers’ official training base, with the duo expected to inspire young athletes through clinics, motivational talks and the Lock Junior Tennis Tour — a grassroots programme aimed at nurturing future champions.

The brothers will also spearhead efforts to attract an ATP Challenger tournament to Harare, a move that would place Zimbabwe firmly on the global tennis map.

Planned synergies between golf, tennis, and swimming will include cross-promotional events, such as Pro-Am tournaments, uniting the sporting communities and creating a vibrant ecosystem that can attract investors, tourists, and international athletes.

Sharpe said the partnership was driven by impact rather than branding.

“Hosting international tournaments will boost tourism, hospitality, and local businesses while the Lock Brothers’ commitment to grassroots tennis ensures opportunities for young Zimbabweans to train, compete, and dream bigger,” Sharpe said.

At least 10% of the ambassadors’ remuneration will be channelled towards corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Sharpe added that aligning Zimbabwe’s elite athletes with a premium lifestyle estate elevates Harare’s profile as a destination for sport, leisure and investment.

“The Hills is not just about building homes. It is about building dreams, opportunities, and legacies,” he said.

“By combining luxury living with world-class sporting facilities, The Hills is set to become the beating heart of Harare’s evolution, where residents can live, work, shop and play.”
