THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has summoned Ngezi Platinum Stars FC and its head coach, Takesure Chiragwi, to appear before a disciplinary committee following a controversial incident during their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Dynamos FC at Rufaro early this month.
The high-profile match, which ended in a tense draw, was marred by a shocking moment when Chiragwi was allegedly seen slapping his own player, McDonald Makuwe, on the touchline.
This act of violence and misconduct has prompted the league to take swift action.
In a statement, PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare confirmed the impending disciplinary hearing, outlining the specific charges faced by both the coach and the club.
"The Premier Soccer League has summoned Ngezi Platinum Stars FC and its head coach, Mr Takesure Chiragwi, to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following the incidents that occurred during their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Dynamos FC played at Rufaro Stadium on the 4th of October 2025,” the PSL said.
On Chiragwi, PSL listed his alleged transgressions.
“Takesure Chiragwi's charges include violent and disorderly conduct and improper behaviour likely to bring the game of football into disrepute,” it said.
“Ngezi Platinum Stars FC charges include disturbing the normal proceedings of a match and improper behaviour and conduct exhibited by its technical team and players. The disciplinary hearings will take place at the PSL offices on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 at 1730hrs.
