BULAWAYO, Jun. 17 (NewsDay Live) - Nkayi Rural District Council has launched a stand verification exercise aimed at updating its database and regularising ownership records for council-allocated stands.
In a public notice issued on June 16, the local authority called on all stand owners to visit council offices for verification by July 31.
The council said beneficiaries must bring supporting documents such as rate cards, stand purchase receipts, lease agreements, and any other relevant documents during the exercise.
According to chief executive officer Silibele Mpofu the verification process is intended to ensure proper record keeping and accountability in the administration of council stands.
“Please note that failure to verify your stand by 31 July will result in repossession or re-allocation of the stand in accordance with council policies and procedures,” council warned.
