The Wi-Fi Boys have had an indifferent start to the season as they are currently sitting 14th on the log standings with 11 points from 11 matches.

NEW TelOne FC coach Herbert Maruwa says the team's next match against Ngezi Platinum Stars will set the tone of his tenure at the Gweru-based side.

Maruwa was yesterday unveiled as the new coach in Gweru hoping to turn around fortunes of the team.

The Wi-Fi Boys have had an indifferent start to the season as they are currently sitting 14th on the log standings with 11 points from 11 matches.

On Saturday they face champions Ngezi Platinum Stars and Maruwa is in a bullish mood.

“I came here because I needed a new challenge. As a coach you have to be ready for new challenges, that is how we develop,” he said.

“We were competing in a different league but I am confident of quickly adjusting and producing the desired results.

“It is not going to be easy to play against the defending champions. But we are hoping to grind a positive result. My target is to start this journey on a high note.

“My first two matches will be against tough teams. But I am hoping to get results that improve the confidence and enthusiasm of the players."

Before the new appointment, Maruwa was enjoying a whirlwind start to the Zifa Northern Region Division One with Harare City having so far dropped two points this season.

The Sunshine Boys are unbeaten in their opening eight games, winning seven to top the log standings.
