KING Nadolo says the opportunity to play for Caps United was one he could not turn down.

The attacking midfielder penned a year-long loan deal with the Lloyd Chitembwe-coached side yesterday, even though he initially looked all but certain to extend his stay with city rivals Dynamos.

DeMbare publicly stated their desire to extend the loan contract for the TelOne star player and there were several negotiations between the two parties to try and get the deal done.

At first, it was a deal that appealed to Nadolo too, but that was before Caps United came through with their proposal.

Speaking to NewsDay Sport yesterday, the midfielder admitted he couldn't just turn down the Caps offer.

“There are a lot of things I had to consider and Caps United offered a very good deal. I had to consider the financial benefit as well because I have a family to feed. But more importantly, I like the Caps project. They have a very good coach and I like their type of play. They have been recruiting some good players which I found very attractive, so with the plans and the goals that I have I couldn't say no to their offer.”

Nadolo revealed that besides Caps United and Dynamos, there were also other league teams that were after his signature.

He said playing for Caps United will give him a chance to revive his career.

The 27-year old arrived at Dynamos on the back of an impressive season with TelOne when he managed to reach double figures of goals despite playing half a season.

But he couldn't just get going, with his career at the Glamour Boys stalled by injuries.

“This is an opportunity to revive my career because I know I can do better. I know myself. I'm not happy with how I played and I feel that Caps can offer a conducive environment for me to improve my football.”

He becomes the latest high-profile figure to join Caps United in what has been a very busy transfer window for them following their capture of Godknows Murwira, Kelvin Madzongwe, Adrian Silla and Innocent Zambezi.

Goalkeeper Ashley Reyners and former WhaWha duo of Terrence Daka and Admiral Matope have also joined.

Yesterday, the club also announced that they had signed 19-year-old winger Tanaka Koni, from lower division side Guruve United.

Nadolo, who has been training with Caps United for two weeks before officialising his stay, believes the club has assembled a strong squad capable of winning the league championship.

Makepekepe, who battled relegation for a large part of the previous season, last won the premiership title in 2016.

“The squad looks very good and there is talent everywhere. We have players that have won the title before, so in terms of experience, we are OK. I believe the team is good enough to win the title this season. The coach is also experienced, and hard as he is, it would help to push players to fulfill their potential.”

The former Highlanders player could potentially make his debut next week when Caps United open their league campaign with a clash against Manica Diamonds.
