The Zimbabwe women’s national cricket team will be looking to maintain a perfect record and finish top of the group when they take on United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier Group B final match at the Tolerance Oval this evening.

Zimbabwe won their first two matches, beating Papua New Guinea by eight wickets on Sunday before following it up with another dominant six-wicket victory over highly-rated Thailand on Monday.

After the win against Thailand, Zimbabwe ensured qualification into the semi-finals but will also be looking to beat the UAE and finish top of the group.

Fast bowler Nomvelo Sibanda is expecting another positive result in today’s game.

“I think so far we have done well, we are on the right track. I think we have gone on about our processes the right way and I am happy. It is just taking one game at a time, one day at a time. So positive results all the way,” she said after the win against Thailand.

Zimbabwe has been in top form in the UAE so after winning the Women’s T20 Quadrangular series that comprised the UAE, United States of America and Thailand with a perfect record last week.

And wins against Papua New Guinea and Thailand have made it five wins on the trot by the Lady Chevrons who are searching for their maiden World Cup appearance.
