ZIMBABWE will participate in 10 sporting disciplines at the second edition of the Africa Youth Games (AYG), in Gaborone, Botswana, from May 22-31.

The team, announced yesterday, immediately received a boost with CBZ Holdings Limited presenting a cheque of $25 000 to Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) president Admire Masenda for the team’s upkeep.
The game will see 48 athletes between the ages of 16 -17 years taking part in swimming, tennis, athletics, judo, triathlon, basketball, netball, rowing, karate and golf.
ZOC vice-president Thabani Gonye, who chairs the body’s technical commission, announced the team at a Press conference in Harare before handing it over to the team management headed by the chef de mission Addison Chiware.
