The album recently hit the market with a rage, although music watchers have expressed concern over the quality of some of the songs they said lacked vocal clarity while they gave him the thumbs up on the bass and rhythm guitars.

The musician will lead the Orchestra Mberikwazvo outfit on their second show outside Harare after the new release at Kadoma’s Odyssey Bar and Restaurant on April 9, following their recent top-notch performance that mesmerised fans in Mutare over the weekend.

Band manager Lucky Macheso told NewsDay they were ready to take the album across Zimbabwe.

“It’s time we show love to Zimbabwe by taking the album to every corner of the country. Our first show will be at the Odyssey Bar and Restaurant in Kadoma,” he said, adding that the gold-mining town had become their second home over the past years.

He said the nationwide tour was an expression of gratitude to their fans who had been patient enough for four years since Macheso’s last release on the market.

“This is good pay back to our fans after starving them for the past few years. We are bringing in a new blend of music. It’s a show not to miss out — new music and new dance routines,” he said.

The six-track album which was recorded at Alema Studios, contains tracks such as Baba, Kurarama Inyasha, Gungwa, Wandirangaridza, Mude Mude and Munyaradzi.

Show organiser Kudzai Matongo, popularly known as Dee Nosh, said the show was a must-attend for all of Macheso’s fans in the town.

“This is a must-attend show for all sungura lovers, new music, energetic dances and lots of give-aways for the fans,” he said.

The Zimbabwe Red Cross Society humanitarian ambassador will also share the stage with the late Daiton Somanje’s son, Faheem, who now fronts Pengaudzoke Band.
