The two staged their performance during a book Expo in Hillbrow Theatre, South Africa.

The event which was dubbed Clash of the Titans, celebrated the launch of the biography of Mthabisi Nkiwane of Green World in South Africa.

Show organiser, Phakama Nkomo, described it as “a clash of the Titans indeed”.

“The two first played separately with their individual bands and later played together. They staged a great performance and the response from the crowd was electrifying,” he said.

Show promoters Underground Entertainment said they sought to capitalise on the rivalry to create magic on stage as the two musicians have been touted as rivals.

“Seeing those two not only sharing a stage, but performing together for more than an hour, was great. As Underground Entertainment we have seen that the real world of entertainment we make, it brings things in different ways which at the end of the day make people smile,” Nkomo said.

Sibanda’s manager, Thandazani Nyoni, said the show was great as it brought good memories and they had fun together on stage.

“This show came after numerous requests by fans, who wanted to see us sharing the stage or doing something together,” he said.

“We performed well and that was it. I never dug the past because the aim was nothing other than reminding our fans those good memories.”
